Boys Preview: 24 teams are set to square off on Saturday morning. SKWC are the defending champs and they are returning with another team loaded with New Jersey Talent and will be tough to beat in their home state. Stellar trained is bringing 3 teams from PA and they look to be the team that might have a chance to keep SKWC from repeating as champs. NJ Wrestling is well represented throughout the rosters of the 24 teams.
Girls Preview: There are 5 teams in Girls High School division. The defending champs, Team Ontario, are not returning leaving the division wide open. Elite is definitely one of the favorites to win it all with a star studded lineup that includes NJ state champ Jayla Hahn. Vision Quest is bringing a team with 2 girls (or more) at many weight classes and there will be many familiar faces on the mats for the all the NJ Girls Wrestling fans across all the teams.
Open Preview: The Men’s Open individual tournament starts on Sunday and is loaded with college wrestling talent from all over the East Coast with a few high school wrestlers sprinkled in. Rutgers All American Jackson Turley will be in action along with 14 other Rutgers teammates. Rider has 4 wrestlers entered.
Should be a great weekend of wrestling at Sportika. We hope all NJ wrestling fans supports a great NJ wrestling event so it grows into a world class event. See everyone Saturday or Sunday.
