Final Top 15 Rankings
Week 9/Final Team Rankings – Lots of movement on the final week of the team portion of the season. Delbarton got the revenge they were looking for with a win over SJR. The celebration by Delbarton made us believe they do in fact care about winning team titles. Del Val losing to Paulsboro caused a major shake up and dropped them out of the rankings. Ridge had one the most thrilling runs to a group championship in a while. Both their sectional final and group final wins came down to the last match. Southern showed their public school dominance by running away with a title over Phillipsburg. Delsea won Group III over Cranford 45-25. SJV beat CC in Non-Public B and jumped up in the rankings. Rumson-Fair Haven entered the rankings after they dismantled Jefferson Twp. 60-15 to win the Group II title.
NJWrestle.com Team of Year and Coach of the Year will be announced before Atlantic City.
1. Delbarton – Beat SJR in the finals 30-22 to take over the top spot
2. St. Joe’s Montvale – Fell to Delbaron in the finals after forfeiting the opening bout at 215
3. St. Peter’s Prep – Lost to SJR in the Non-Public A semifinals 40-18
4. Christian Brothers Academy – Lost to Delbarton in the Non-Public A semifinals 49-13
5. Southern – Dominated Group V and beat P’burg 45-21 in finals
6. Paramus Catholic – Lost in the Non-Public A quarterfinals to SPP 39-21
7. St. John Vianney – Non-Public B Champs beating CC 30-24
8. Phillipsburg – Dominated until they hit Southern in the finals losing 45-21
9. Camden Catholic – Lost to SJV in the Non-Public B finals
10. Don Bosco Prep – Lost to CBA in the Non-Public A quarterfinals 34-29
11. Kingsway – Lost to Southern in the sectional finals
12. Delsea – Delsea won group III over Cranford 45-25
13. Ridge – Beat Mount Olive in the Group IV finals 35-33 in a thriller
14. Rumson-Fair Haven – Beat Jefferson 60-15 in the finals to complete a 1 loss season
15. Bergen Catholic – Not a normal year for Bergen Catholic but still a solid team
